Kameron Neese: Freshman for Women's Volleyball Writes about Day 4 of Preseason!

We started off the day with a great breakfast. After breakfast the whole team met in the weight room for a good warm up and core work out. Once we finished with that, we then went straight into court practice. We began with our typical warm up. After we went into a game of volleyball tennis to get our feet moving. With this drill there is only one person on the court for each side. The object of this drill is for control as well as placing the ball in strategic spots on the opponents side of the court. Next we moved into practicing serve and serve receive. After this we continued to practice on control by doing the "butterfly drill". In this drill you have a tosser, passer and a target. Once the drill progresses you continue to move from position to position in a "butterfly" formation. To conclude the morning practice we did a six on six out of system drill. After the morning practice we had a nice break from 11:00 - 12:30 and then that is when position practices began. To conclude the day, Coach Katie split us into different groups and gave us separate times to come and work on our own positions. This was a great way for all of us to perfect our skills individually.
