Women's Soccer Rebound Against Catawba Reserve
The Lady Pioneers Women Soccer Team rebounded from a disappointing opening season lost to winning 8-0 over the Catawba Reserve Team making their overall record 1-1. Sophomore Jackie Marshall from Greer, SC open the scoring 3 minutes into the match, scoring from the corner of the 18yd box and bending it to the far post upper 90. The goal was assisted by Freshman Kassandra Young from Greer, SC. Sophomore Elizabeth Mc Gee from Gadson, SC scored in the 20th and 52nd minute marks will adding 3 assist. This give Elizabeth 5 goals in the first 2 games. Freshman Adahi Alarcon from Piedmont, SC scored in the 24th and 53rd minutes also adding 1 assist. Sophomore Cailyn Marietti from Charleston, SC scored in the 35th and 47th minute will adding 1 assist. Freshman Katie Garcia from Greenville, SC added a goal in the 78th minute to finish the scoring. Freshmen Natalie Stark from Boiling Springs, SC and Heather Turner from Gaston, SC each added an assist. Freshman Goalkeeper Merideth Mitchiner had 2 saves for the shutout.
The Lady Pioneers will be back in action Saturday, September 1st at their home field against Cape Fear Community College.
