Pioneers Dominate in Win Over USC Union

Hurricane Florence delayed The Lady Pioneers for a week from practice but it did not stop them. They came off the break with a dominating performance against USC Union.  The Pioneers came out scoring four goals in the first five minutes and finished the half with an outstanding 8-0 lead. As the game continued to the ladies continued to score four more goals in the first twenty minutes of the second half. 

 

Sophomore forwards Elizabeth McGee (Gaston, SC) and Cailyn Marietti (Charleston, SC) both led the way with two goals and an assist.  Freshman forward Adahi Alarcon (Piedmont, SC) had two goals.  Sophomore midfielder Morgan Vega (Summerville, SC) had a goal and three assists. Freshman midfielder Kassandra Young (Greer, SC) and freshman forward Nathalie Stark each had one goal and an assist.  Sophomore forward Brionna Mack (Swansea, SC), sophomore defender Kayla LaCroix (Leesville, SC) and freshman midfielder Heather Turner (Gaston, SC) also scored goals for the Pioneers. Sophomore forward Caroline Altman (Spartanburg, SC) and freshman defender Mackenzie Ramsey (Kings Mountain, NC) also had an assist.

 

This win against Region X rival makes the Lady Pioneers 5-2 overall and 3-1 in Region X. You can follow the Women's Soccer Team this Saturday, September 22nd, at home as they take on Oxford College of Emory University. Game starts at 2:00pm and will be live streamed for those who cannot attend the event.
