Pioneers Sweep Montreat JV

Thursday evening the Pioneers traveled to Montreat, North Carolina to play against the Montreat College JV team. The Pioneers came out with a lot of energy and had fun throughout the game. Winning with score of 25-16, 25-18, 25-17, the girls played a very clean game. By lowering their errors, they were able to be more of an offensive threat. The leading point scorer yet again was Freshman Aeyane Mattress. A 6 rotation outside who never steps off the floor. Leading the Pioneers with 12 kills hitting .462, she continues to make her impact on this team. Claudia Casey followed with 10 kills hitting .769, and added a service ace, 2 digs, and a solo block. Quinna White did a great job late in the game adding 4 kills hitting .429 on the match.

Zimmerman commented, " I'm really proud of how the girls continue to work, not only with their technical skills but how they carry themselves on the floor. Confidence and teamwork are growing which is fun to see. Once again our serve receive is doing some really good things, giving us immediate side out opportunities. Our setters, Savannah Ducote and Kameron Neese have been working so hard and it is definitely showing."

The Pioneers will travel to Dobson, NC to play Surry Community College Friday 9/21 at 6:00 PM.
