Pioneers Pick Up Important Win on the Road

South Prince George, VA – SMC Men's Soccer team picked up a big win on the road in Virginia against Richard Bland College improving there overall record to 5-2 on the season.

"This was a very tough game for us and a battle for 90 minutes", said Coach Hughes. The Pioneers produced early goals from Kevin Lopez and David Negrin with RBC pulling one back before half time. RBC would go on to tie the game up in the 72nd minute off of a brilliant strike outside the box. "We had our chances to give us more of a cushion in the game but just could not convert. RBC scored two fantastic goals to keep them in it", said Coach Hughes.

However just shortly after RBC's game tying goal, Pioneers forward Jakari Davis would go on to score the game winner from a cross from Hykeem Martin in the 75th minute. "It was a battle for sure and we expect another great contest next week in the return match at SMC," said Coach Hughes.
