Women's Soccer Ties with 14th Ranked Cape Fear

The Lady Pioneers traveled to Wilmington, N.C. to take on the 14th ranked Cape Fear Lady Sea Devils. In Cape Fear open the game up with a goal 24 minutes into the game. The pioneers were able to hold them at 1 for the remainder of the first half.

In the start of the second half the Pioneers scored a goal of their own tying the game at 1-1. The goal was scored by forward Elizabeth McGee (Garson, SC) with an assisted by forward Cailyn Marietti (Charleston, SC) in the 70th minute.

In Overtime despite the effort with several shots on goal, the score remained the same 1-1 which ended the game in a tie against the (#14) Cape Fear and (#16) SMC.

SMC will end their regular season Saturday October 20, against USC Lancaster. Following the game against USCL will be the Region X tournament. Pending results from this last game of the regular season, SMC and Cape Fear will both have byes leading into the Region X tournament.

SMC Pioneers still sit ranked 16th in the Nation with a record of 12-2-2 and 104 Goals on the year.
