Men's Basketball Looking to Come Back After Tough Weekend

Destin, Fl - SMC men's basketball traveled to Destin, FL this past weekend to participate in the Bruce Stewart Classic. Friday, the Pioneers took on the Raiders of Northwest Florida State, the number one ranked team in NJCAA basketball. After a solid showing in the first half, the Raiders were just too much for the pioneers as they went on to win 112-74. SMC was led in scoring by Miguel Priest (18 pts), Tracus Chisholm (16 pts), and Jalen Hillery (10 pts.)

Saturday's match-up with Gulf Coast State College was a 40 minute battle between the two teams and the Pioneers led by 3 at halftime before going on to fall 76-75. Top performers: Kai Rivers (21), Tranard Ferrell (14), Miguel Priest (13), and Jalen Hillery (12.)

The Pioneers will be back in action Tuesday, November 20th in the Bridges Arena at 7:00pm
