Athletic Training at Spartanburg Methodist

Athletic Training and Sports Medicine at Spartanburg Methodist College

A key component of athletic performance is sports medicine. The athletic training staff and facilities at SMC offer student-athletes a variety of resources to provide injury prevention, recovery, and rehabilitation so student-athletes can return to optimum performance and play quickly and safely.

On this page, you will find resources for nutrition for recovery, injury prevention, and timing for performance; sleep; and hydration and mental health for both student-athletes and coaches.

Required information:

Physicals must be performed by a Spartanburg Regional Sports Medicine Institute affiliated physician. SMC offers several dates on campus for these to be completed. Please contact the athletic training staff or respective coach for those dates.

Student-athletes will not be able to participate in any team activities until the following information is complete:

  1. Physical and Health History
  2. Healthy Roster
  3. Insurance Policy

Other considerations:

  1. Sickle Cell Recommendation
  2. Proof of Care

If you have any questions about the above information, please contact Jaimee Bowman at bowmanj@smcsc.edu.
