Vanderhorst Leads the Way as Dolphin Men Win at Spartanburg Methodist College

The Brunswick CC Dolphins Men's Basketball traveled to Spartanburg, SC today to play Spartanburg Methodist College in a key Region 10-D1 contest. In a tremendously hard fought game the Dolphins defeated the host Pioneers 79-73. The Dolphins led at the half 34-31 and battled back after the host team briefly took the lead in the second half to determine the final score. The key to success for the Dolphins was limiting turnovers. The Dolphins only had seven turnovers for the game. The Dolphins were led by freshman point guard Kevon Vanderhorst who had 26 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds. Other double figure scorers for the Dolphins were Nasiar Blackston with 11 points, Cam Oats with 10 and Jaleb Grant with 10. The Dolphins are currently in second place and 5-1 in league play with five of those games have been played on the road. The next two games for the Dolphins are on the road as well as they match up against third place Cape Fear CC on Wednesday night at 6 pm and on Saturday at Richard Bland College in Petersburg, VA at 3 pm. After this week the Dolphins will have nine regular season games left with eight at home.
