No. 5 Daytona State wins 5th straight with 3-0 victory over Spartanburg Methodist

Daytona Beach, FL- Arianna Kinsley (Estero, FL), scored a pair of goals and Daytona State extended its winning streak to five straight matches to start the season with a 3-0 victory over Spartanburg Methodist on Thursday afternoon.

Kinsley, added goals in the 59th and 65th minutes. She has seven goals so far this season. Carsyn Petersen (Greeley, CO) added the final goal in the 78th minute, her second of the season.

The Falcons completely controlled possession, outshooting Spartanburg Methodist 31-2.

Goalkeeper, Emma Laursen (Randers, Denmark), sophomore Elisa Cruz (Oviedo, FL), Kinsley, and sophomore Akari Kishida (Tokyo, Japan) all recorded assists on the afternoon.

Kinsley and Wakaba Kogure (Tokyo, Japan) finished with a game-high six shots, all of which were on target. Freshman goalkeeper Laursen made two saves in the effort.

The Falcons have not allowed a goal in their first five games of the season and have outscored their opponents 27-0.

Daytona State earned a season high No. 5 NJCAA National Ranking this week and a No. 7 United Soccer Coaches ranking.

Next up, the Falcons will take on USC Lancaster in Lancaster, SC on Saturday 9/9 at 12:00pm to close out their two game road trip in South Carolina.
