Sea Devils Sweep Clinton

Wilmington, NC - The Cape Fear Community College men's and women's basketball teams swept a Sunday doubleheader in two key Region X games between the Sea Devils and Clinton Junior College.

Osandai Vaughn dropped a game-high 25 points at the Schwartz Center in Downtown Wilmington to bounce back from Saturday's setback with an 85-73 win, while the Lady Sea Devils earned their third straight victory 67-62 on the road in Rock Hill, S.C.

Kristina Rumplasch recorded a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds to pace the women and Alexis Redd chipped in with 14 points to pace the CFCC scoring. Four different Sea Devils finished in double digits for the men as Demetres Abrams put in 16, followed by Anthony Vanhook with 15 and Demarcus Sanford with 10 points.

The Sea Devils moved into second place with a 4-2 record in league play and now stand at 14-12 overall. The women improved to 16-7 and 6-7 in conference.

Both teams have the next few days off as they gear up for weekend matchups as the Lady Sea Devils host Catawba Valley on Saturday, Feb. 22, while the men head to the Palmetto State on Friday for a date with USC-Salkehatchie.
