SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College women's soccer team moves to 0-1 in conference play, 0-2 overall after hosting Spartanburg Methodist College in the conference opener on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers took the lead in the 22nd minute and would add three additional tallies through the first 45 minutes of play. Two minutes into the second half, the Pioneers struck again, and the score would remain 5-0 through the final 43 minutes of regulation. Lana Hatch and Angie Finnerty led the Statesmen attack with three and two shots on goal. Tiffany Hargett was credited with 10 saves through regulation.
The Richard Bland women's soccer team next travels to Spartanburg Methodist College on Thursday, September 8th. The Statesmen will look to redeem themselves in a 3pm kickoff.
