Midweek Match at Wake Tech CC

 

Spartanburg, SC.  The Spartanburg Methodist Women’s Beach Volleyball Traveled to Apex, NC. for a midweek match up at Wake Tech CC for a back to back contest against the Eagles.

Finally a great weather day for beach volleyball! The SMC Beach team took both matches of the day 4-1 and 5-0.

Match 1

The first match was really a battle to come out strong, which the Pioneers did with outstanding success. In the 5’s was a new match up with Raquel Talley/Elina Harper working together for the first time. A pair that combined experience with zeal. Raquel Talley (Sophomore beach player) brought her experience and energy to the court to help lead Elina Harper (freshman first match) to battle in two extremely time sets in the match going extra points in both (21-23,23-21)  to split and yet fall short in the third 15-11.

  5. Raquel Talley/Elina Harper(SMC) loss. Kat Ivkovich/Kennedy George(WT) 21-23,23-21,15-11

 

Match 2

And then zeal returned to the court for the second match up.  The same pairs would play together yet have a much different outcome. The pair of Raquel Talley/Elina Harper would play as if they had played together all season finishing the 2 match 21-13,21-15 to give the Pioneers a 5-0 win to close the day!

The Pioneer will host at the Upward star center on Friday 3/31 and Saturday 4/1 in a double tri match against Bob Jones and Sandhills CC.
