Lady Pioneers Host SMC Invitational

3/9-3/10: SMC hosted its first tournament for the 2024 Beach volleyball season.

Day one: the Lady Pioneers faced Richard Bland College early at 8 AM. During this match, both teams endured heavy rain and wind gusts. Unfortunately, the Lady Pioneers fell short losing 0-5. Looking to bounce back, SMC faced NCAA DIII Huntingdon College. With rain no longer being an issue SMC still faced some hardships, losing to Huntingdon 0-5.

Day two: bright and early at 8 AM SMC faced the 2023 reigning National Champions of the NJCAA D1 Beach Volleyball tournament, Palm Beach State College. The Panthers of PBSC were too big of a match for the lady Pioneers, resulting in an 0-5 loss.

For the very last match of the SMC invitational, the Lady Pioneers looked to bounce back in their match against Wake Tech Community College. Unfortunately, the Lady Pioneers faced some challenges that led to a 2-3 loss.

Up Next:, SMC heads to Gaston college in Dallas, NC where they will face Sandhills Community College at 2 PM and Gaston college at 4 PM.
