Former Pioneer Witherspoon added to 40 man roster

 Former Pioneer centerfielder Travis Witherspoon got some really good news just before Thanksgiving break, he was added to LA Angels 40 man roster today. Witherspoon spent the first half of the 2012 season at Inland Empire(High A) before being promoted after the High A All Star game to Double A Arkansas. 

On the year Travis hit  .268 with 19 doubles, 7 triples, 13 homeruns,  and 48 Runs batted in while stealing 34 bases.  Witherspoon was then was selected to play in the Prestigious Arizona Fall League where he had 3 doubles, 1 triple, 3 homeruns and drove in 11 runs for the Scottsdale Scorpions. 

Witherspoon played at SMC in 2008-2009 where he helped the 09' team to a single season school record  55 wins and 5th place finish at the Junior College World Series.
