Pioneers "walk off" with Region X Title

 

Pioneer Baseball took two huge games from visiting Guilford Tech on Sunday and secured a automatic trip to the District Championship. SMC needed a sweep this weekend and a Louisburg College loss. They got the loss needed by LC in Saturdays first game and set the stage for Sundays swe 

Chris Washington picked a shutout in game one and the Pioneers put up 15 runs to quickly dispose of Guilford Tech.
Game two seemed to be going as the first as Dylan Rodgers went five solid innings and left with a 5-0 lead. Guilford Tech wouldn't go away and took a 7-6 lead in the 7th. Reid Moman beat out a infield single and went to second on a throwing error. Domineke Albert was asked to move Moman to third, he did that but also beat out the bunt to put the winning run n first. With the stage set, She'll McCain hit a walkoff triple to deep center. Both Moman and Albert raced home giving the Pioneers a walk off win and clinching a first place tie with Louisburg College for the regular season Region X title.
