Champ Rowland's clutch two run bomb and some nice glove work by the Pioneers set up a date with Central Alabama on Wednesday night at 9:30pm.
Rowland went 2-for-2, scored two runs and had a sacrifice bunt. Reid Moman also had two hits for SMC. Albert, who was 2-for-2 in throwing out would-be base stealers, doubled in the fifth, was bunted over by Rowland and tagged up to score on a fly out. The Pioneers scored another that way in the eighth as Moman singled and came around.
Brandon Landrie picked up the win in relief of starter Chris Washington and Condy Mincey got the save.
SMC (47-13) has won 17 straight games.
