The 7th ranked SMC Baseball defeated Brunswick Community College 6-4 on a cold Tuesday afternoon on the coast of North Carolina to improve to 10-3 on the year.
RHP Michael Wright earned up the win going five innings, spraying eight hits and striking out three. LHP Jared Felix earned the save throwing four scoreless innings, giving up three hits and striking out one.
Leading hitters for the Pioneers: Jordan Garrett 4-4, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R; Matt White 2-5, 2 R; Blue Sanderson 2-4, R; Kenard McDowell 2-4, 2B, 3 RBI.
SMC and Brusnwick were scheduled to play again Wednesday but that game has been cancelled due to poor weather.
SMC will open Region X play this weekend as they host USC Salkehatchie on Saturday and Sunday
