Pioneers stumble on day one- sharp on day two
Kinston, NC- #4 ranked Spartanburg Methodist dropped their first round game in the 2014 D1 Region X Baseball Tournament on Saturday evening to Guilford Tech 8-7.
SMC responded with a 10-2 beating of USC-Lancaster on Sunday afternoon to advance in the losers bracket.
SMC will face Guilford Tech at 1:00pm in an elmination game. The winner will advance to play again tonight at 7:00pm. SMC will need to win five more games in a row to bring home the Region X Championship.
