Former Pioneer Zack Shields taken by Cincinnati Reds in 10th round

SPARTANBURG, SC-  Former Pioneer baseball and current UNC-Wilmington outfielder Zack Shields (West Florence High) was drafted by the Cincinatti Reds in the 10th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft on Tuesday. 

As a sophomore, Shields hit .353 and swiped 36 bases for the Pioneers, he led UNC Wilmington this season as a junior with a .355 batting average and stole 17 bases in 19 tries.
