Pioneer Baseball stays alive in region tourney

KINSTON, NC., SMC Baseball (41-17) stayed alive in the 2016 Region X Baseball Tournament with a 11-6 win over Florence Darlington Tech Sunday afternoon. The Pioneers will face USC Salkehatchie today at 1:00pm in an elimination game. If SMC wins, they will play again at 7:00pm tonight against the winner of Louisburg College and Pitt CC.  Updated bracket here

 

Sunday

The Pioneers bounced back to defeat Florence Darlington Tech, 11-6, in their second game of the Region 10 tournament. Lancaster, Berne and Gayle each homered. Agle gets the win with 5 strong innings of relief only allowing 2 hits.
