The #9 ranked Pioneers improved to 9-0 on the season with a 80-68 win on the road against Tennessee region foe Walters State.
SMC shot a blistering 63% from the field and 66% from the three point line in the first half. They held a 49-37 halftime lead. The Pioneers started the second half hot as they jumped out to a 73-43 lead.
Jalen Nesbitt had a team high 23 points and game high 10 rebounds. Dajohn Rowland and Ronell Crockett also scored in double figures. Rowland scored 19 on 4-9 shooting from three. Crockett had a solid all around game with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Travis Black stuffed the stat sheet with 8 points, 7 assists and a career high 10 rebounds.
"I would have liked to have finished the game a little better," said head coach Jeff Brookman. "Overall, I am proud of my guys.
The Pioneers take a few days off for Thanksgiving and return to action next Wednesday the 28th with a home game against Catawba Valley.
