The Spartanburg Methodist mens basketball team improved to 12-0 overall and 1-0 in region games with a 72-38 win on the road against Caldwell CC.
The Pioneers were led in scoring by Jalen Nesbitt with 16 points on 4-5 shooting from the three point line. Ronell Crockett added 12 points and Ben Johnson added 11. Marquice Sims had a team high 9 rebounds and Travis Black had a team high 7 assists on the night.
Tonight's game marks the second straight time that SMC has held an opponent to less than 20 points in a half. This past Sunday, the Pioneers held Denmark Tech to 14 points in the first half. In tonight's game, SMC held Caldwell to 16 points in the second half.
"What a great team win," said head coach Jeff Brookman. "Our defensive intensity was there for most of the game. I am very proud of our team"
The Pioneers take a week off for exams and return to action next Wednesday when they travel to take on Roane State.
