#6 Pioneers strong start and finish ends with 21 point win

After a long holiday layoff the #6 ranked Pioneers took to the floor looking to continue with their strong play. All but six minutes of the contest, the Pioneers dominated the Senators. SMC led 34-19 at the half behind a quick start from DJ Coleman(12 points). Walters State(8-9) began to chip away on the lead and at the 12:40 mark, the Pioneers lead had been trimmed to four points. A quick timeout and spark from forward DaQuan Jeffries (18 points) and Ben Johnson(14 points) the undefeated Pioneers quickly ran their lead back to double figures before slamming the door late and defeating the Senators 69-48. 

SMC (16-0) will take to the road on Tuesday for a Region X matchup with Clinton Junior College.
