Men’s Basketball Climbs to #3

The Spartanburg Methodist men's basketball team climbed two spots to #3 in this week's NJCAA D1 men's basketball national poll.  The Pioneers are coming off a week where they won two very close Region X games. Last Tuesday, they defeated Clinton by a score of 67-63 and this past Saturday the Pioneers held on to win 71-66 against Brunswick CC. With the two wins last week, SMC improved to 18-0 overall and 3-0 in Region X play. The #3 ranking is the highest in school history.

"Once again, there is no time to worry about national rankings," said head coach Jeff Brookman. "Our region is very competitive and balanced and we need to be ready to focus one game at a time and one practice at a time."

The Pioneers return to action Thursday when they host Region X member USC-Salkahatchie at 7:30 PM.
