SPARTANBURG, SC, SMC picked up their 14th win on the season last night after defeating Region X foe Clinton Junior College 67-56. Brannon Dark (Woodmont High) led the Pioneers with 17 points, Anthony Moses (Legacy Charter) scored nine, followed by Warren Vinson (Rock Hill High) with eight and Nate Motley (Rock Hill High) with six. Ten players scored for the Pioneers and all had done so by halftime.
SMC (14-5/1-0) jumped out to a 6-0 run to start the half and led 29-20 with 5:30 left to play in the first. A 9-0 spurt over a three minute period gave the Pioneers their largest lead at 38-20.
The Pioneers will return to action on Saturday as they host Brunswick Community College (9-11) at 3:00pm in Bridges Arena.
