SPARTANBURG, SC., A balanced scoring attack led the Pioneers (5-2) to their third win in a row last night as they defeated Catawba Valley Community College 91-82.
A total of five Pioneers scored in double figures in the win, Marquise Simuels (Columbia, SC / AC Flora High) led SMC in scoring with 20 points and 12 rebounds. TJ Sheppard (North Augusta, SC / North Augusta High) added 16 points. Anthony Adger (Iva, SC / Crescent High) added another double double with 12 points and 11 assists. Armani Hill (Rock Hill, SC / Northwestern High) and Anthony McGhee (Greenville, SC / Southside High) each scored 10 points on the evening.
SMC shot 16-18 from the free throw line and 61.5% from the floor.
East Georgia comes to Bridges Arena on Wednesday evening. The men are scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 following the women's game which will begin at 5:30pm.
