MORRISTOWN, TN., SMC Men's Basketball (14-3) took to the road on Sunday afternoon to face Walters State Community College. WSCC defeated SMC in their first meeting of the year 81-77. The Pioneers led 39-29 at the half and held on for a 72-68 win, the win is their eighth in a row.
TJ Sheppard led SMC with 22 points. Marquise Simuels added 14 points and six rebounds. Tre' Smith had 11 points while Daniel Bridges finished with six points and eight rebounds.
SMC shot 46% from the field, 38% from three point range and 78% from the charity stripe. SMC controlled the boards by outrebounding the Senators 47-35.
The Pioneers return to Bridges Arena on Tuesday evening as they host Milligan College JV at 6:30pm.
