Balanced scoring and free throw shooting leads SMC Basketball to big road wins

WILMINGTON, NC.,

Anthony Adger scored 25 points, dished out 12 assists, and pulled down 7 rebounds to help lead SMC to a 110-850 road win over Region X leader Cape Fear CC on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers had six players in double figures, hit 16 three pointers and went 10-12 from the free throw line and improved to 23-6 overall and 6-3 in Region X play.  

The win ended the Sea Devils 30 game home winning streak and avenged a one point loss at home in their first matchup.

Je'Quan Perry scored 18 points and had 6 boards, Marquise Simuels added 18 points and 8 rebounds. TJ Sheppard finished with 13 points, while Daniel Bridges had 11 points, and Josh Council had 10 points.

 

BRUNSWICK, NC., Playing important games on back to back nights could have been a tough task for the Pioneers but another balanced scoring attack carried SMC to their fifth win in a row as the Pioneers defeated Brunswick CC 92-81 on Sunday. SMC (23-6) now sits in second place in the Region X standings at 6-3 with one game remaining in the regular season. 

Anthony Adger paced SMC once again with 20points, 9 assists, and, 5 rebounds. Je'Quan Perry added 16points and hauled in 7 rebounds, Armani Hill and Marquise Simuels each added 12 points.  TJ Sheppard had a solid 11 points and 7 boards, Warren Vison 9 points and 6 rebounds, and Daniel Bridges ended with 6points and a game high 13 rebounds

SMC held a 45-34 lead at the half and shot 24-34 from the free throw line

 

The Pioneers are back in Bridges Arena  on Thursday night as they close out the regular season against USC Salkehatchie.
