Men's Basketball earns Region X awards

PINEHURST, NC., Three Pioneers were awarded Region X honors for their play during the regular season. Marquise Simuels was named to the Region X First Team while fellow sophomore Malik Gaffney earned second team honors. 

First year Head Coach Jon Cremins was named Region X Coach of the Year for guiding the Pioneers to a tournament championship and a second place finish in the regular season. 

SMC (26-6) will travel to Hutchinson, Kansas for the NJCAA Men's National Championship Tournament next week. The Pioneers earned the #21 seed and will face the #12 seed SW Tennessee Community College Monday at 5:30pm. 

Come out to SMC today at 3:30 to send off Coach Cremins and the men in style to the Hutch.
