Men's Basketball Defeats East Georgia 87-83

Spartanburg, Sc - Spartanburg Methodist men's basketball defeated East Georgia State College Saturday evening 87-83. After battling in the first half, both teams were tied up 37 all at the half. SMC found their groove as they put together 5 consecutive stops that led to conversions to start the second half. At the 8 minute mark, the Pioneers were leading 70-48. However, the Bobcats would not go away and decided to go on a run of their own. For the final six minutes of the game, missed free-throws and turnovers would allow to the Bobcats to cut the lead to just 11. Despite nearly blowing a 25-point lead, the pioneers were able to hold on improving their record to 6-4.
