Men's and Women's Golf Perform Well at Nationals

The men's golf team performed well and finished in 18th place in the NJCAA National Golf Tournament held at Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Florida. On day three, the Pioneers shot a five year best 287 led by Zachary Herold with a 69. "This event staged some of the best teams in the country. I am proud of this team and looking forward to next year" said coach Kyle Owings. The Pioneers finished the season ranked 17th in the country.

Sophomore Brady Trout  finished his career at SMC with a 78. "My golf career at Spartanburg Methodist has been some of the greatest moments and memories I will never forget. I am thankful for Coach Owings and the opportunity to be a Pioneer" concluded Brady Trout.

McLennan CC won the event with a 24 under total of 1128 and Kerry Sweeney from Eastern Florida State won the individual title with a 13 under total of 275.

        On the women's side, freshman Brooke Hutto finished with three rounds in the 70's to finish in the top 30 in the country at the LPGA International Golf Club in Daytona Beach, FL.
