Kyle Hughes enters his 5^th season with the Pioneers, his third season as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach.

Hughes came to the Pioneers after spending two years serving as a staff coach for Carolina Elite Soccer Academy (CESA) and United FC in Greenville, SC. In 2015, Hughes joined the Men’s Soccer Pioneers coaching staff as an assistant coach led by former Head Coach, Kevin Nolan. The two would go on to produce a record of 28-9-2 overall and 23-7 in Region 10. In 2017, Hughes was named the Head Men’s Soccer Coach shortly after the resignation of former Head Coach Kevin Nolan. In his first season, Hughes led the Pioneers to 12-6-2 (7-6-2). In his second season, Hughes led the Pioneers to 18-7 (15-3) which saw them reach the 2018 Region 10 Conference Final and Division I Southeast District Semifinal where they lost to #9 Georgia Military College. In the current 2019 season the Pioneers are 6-6 (6-3) entering the Region 10 Conference tournament.
