Pioneers Fall to USC Lancaster

Spartanburg, SC -  The SMC Tennis team fell to USC Lancaster, 6-3, in the best out of three series for the Region X Championship.

The match was  played at home, indoors at the West Side Club.

Corey White (Boiling Springs HS) and Jonathan Connor (Mid Carolina HS) won their singles matches, 7-6, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-0 respectively.

Stephen Higginbotham (Boiling Springs HS) and Connor won their doubles match 6-0, 6-0.

The Pioneers will play the second match of the series at Lancaster, March 30.

Spartanburg Methodist College has 14 intercollegiate teams that compete in Region X of the National Junior College Athletic Association, which includes colleges in the Carolinas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The College is in its 100th academic year of providing a quality education to students in a Christian environment. More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning.
