SMC Pioneers Track Team has solid day at Terriers Relay

Spartanburg, S.C. – SMC Pioneer Men and Women's track team competed in the Terrier Relay Saturday in Spartanburg, S.C.. The race event hosted twenty eight college teams in attendance. SMC mens's team had a solid day on the track.  Freshman Logan Easterlin trimmed his 1500m Pr to 4:11 finishing 14th of 62 overall in that event.  Shawn Hamilton just missed an overall Pr in men's 5k event.    Emmet Kelley continued to improve in the 400m at :53.1 finish time.  

On the women's side, sophomore Anastasia Kinlaw took 7th place of 53 in the 100m with a :12.42 finish time. She later followed up with a 200m time of :25.64 finishing eighth.  She scored points for SMC women's team in both events.

Post-meet Thoughts

"We keep improving every meet.  Hard not to be happy with that effort and determination.  It's a great feeling knowing each of the team members are putting all they have on the track." says Ken Roach. 

Looking Ahead

The track team will have to travel to the Central, SC next week to compete at the Susan Rouse Invite at Southern Weslyan Univ. April 6th.
