Ken Roach hired as head coach for the SMC Pioneer Cross Country program

SPARTANBURG, SC-   Ken Roach has been hired as the new head coach for the Spartanburg Methodist College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams.

Ken Roach brings years of successful coaching experience with both women's and men's cross country teams that can be seamlessly applied at the collegiate level. Most recently, Roach served as the Carolina Homeschool Cougars Track and Cross Country coach in Spartanburg, SC, since 2010.   

In addition, Roach is looking forward to recruiting this summer to prepare for the Pioneers fall season. "We still have open running spots available,  Roach will be looking for athletes who are "good citizens, educationally oriented, and committed team players. We will be selective in our recruiting process" he said, in describing his coaching philosophy. "You can walk over mountains by simply putting one foot in front of the other, but staying committed is where most people fail".  He goes on "we will dig deep and not look back".
