Men and Women's Cross Country are Running Hard into the 19-20 Season

Spartanburg Methodist College women's and men's cross country team opens its preseason with a great recruiting class and renewed determination to compete in Region X. SMC Women's team has 7 new freshman and the Men’s team has 9 new freshman.  “One of the good aspects of having a young team is that they all develop together.  The training is a bit more simplified and focus is easily centered toward improvement.  If we can get the improvement and layer it with a competitive spirit, the team should end the season with a lot of confidence and success. So far during preseason practices, the team unity is the best I have had at SMC” says Coach Roach.

The team is scheduled to open its season on August 30th at the Covered Bridge Open in Boone, NC.  The team then will host the SMC Classic on the September 7th, compete at the Flying Feet Invite in Due West, SC on September 28th, travel to the Louisville Classic on the Oct 5th, UAB Blazer Invite on the Oct 18th, and finish its regular season at the RegionX Championship in Spartanburg.

The team is also excited to schedule on two Half Marathon's this season which will be released soon.
