SMC traveled to Aiken Tech this weekend to take on the defending Region X tourney champions for a important series. Both teams entered the weekend at 10-0 in region play. The Pioners swept day one behind the pitching of Madison Burnett and Lacey Leary. SMC won game one 3-1 and game two 4-2.
Game three featured another dominat performance in the circle by Casey Whitaker as the Pioneers won 6-1.
Game four ended 4-2 in favor of ATC.
The Pioneers had 30 hits on the weekend and only allowed eight runs on 15 hits.
Hannah Knight (10 sb) and Jessie Sims (6 sb) led the Pioneers offensively..
SMC will host Pitt CC on Saturday and Sunday for another important series. Pitt CC is 10-1 in Region X play.
