Pioneers earn regular season Region X Championship

Softball takes its second consecutive Region X Regular Season Championship.

The Pioneers took two from USC Sumter today 6-5 and 10-2. With the wins, SMC moves to 39-13 and 20-2 overall. They will play Saturday morning in Aiken, SC against the Louisburg/USC Sumter winner.

Kinsey Parrish delivered a clutch two out two run bomb with the first game tied at 4. Lacey Leary picked up the win in relief of Casey Whitaker and Madison Burnett got the save.

Jessie Sims had three hits and two stolen bases for the Lady Pioneers. 

Game two got started with a bang! Six runs in the bottom of the first for SMC and that was all the duo of Burnett and Leary would need.

Burnett started and picked up the win while Leary worked two innings of scoreless relief. 

Alex Oliver(five Rbi) delivered a grand slam in the first inning. This was the Pioneers 3rd slam in two weekends. (Knight, Wade, and Oliver)

Casey Whitaker, Kelli Shealy, Alex Bettis and Lindsay Gore each had two hits to lead SMC.
