McDaniel to join Pioneer Softball coaching staff

SPARTANBURG, SC., Jennifer Whited McDaniel begins her first season as pitching coach for the Pioneers. Jennifer is a softball instructor at Carolina Sports Factory and owner of Upstate Synergy Fast pitch Softball Organization.

She graduated from the University of South Carolina Upstate with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She lettered four years at Boiling Springs High School playing from 7th grade to 10th grade before transferring to Dorman High School where she lettered two years. She was a three year All-Region, two year All-State and All-Area selection, was named to the North/South All-Star team in 2001 and earned MVP honors after tossing a no-hitter, she was also named Herald Journal Player of the Year as a senior. Jennifer finished her high school career with 1,439 strikeouts. She played her freshman year at Wingate University where she was awarded freshman of the Year Award for the university and also earned the SAC conference freshman of the year award. She carried a .92 era with 27 RBI's and 5 HR's at bat. In 2004 she threw in 18 games with a team high 10 complete games and 158 strikeouts with an opponent's batting average of .217. Jennifer was named Sprint/Nextel player of the week several times and was also awarded Defensive Player of the Year for Upstate Softball in 2004. In 2006 she was ranked 5th in the nation in saves. After her stellar collegiate career Jennifer started teaching individual lessons at Potential Sports Academy in Spartanburg.

Jennifer currently teaches at Carolina Sports Factory in Lyman.
