Softball continues win streak with sweep of East Georgia State College

SPARTANBURG, SC., SMC Softball improved to 31-5 on the season with a sweep of East Georgia State College on Wednesday afternoon. The Pioneers won 3-1 and 11-2 and are now on a 24 game winning streak. Bailey Pearson improved to 9-1 on the year with the win in game one while Kaylee Freeman moved to 11-1 with the win in game two. Leslie Altman and Kaleigh Busbee hit back to back home runs in game one to give the Pioneers the lead. SMC pounded out 13 hits in game two with Pearson going 3-3 and 3 runs batted in. Lindsey Mason went 2-3 with 2 rbi and 3 walks for the two games. Mary Hart reached base safely in all seven at bats. 2-2, 2 rbi, 4 walks, HBP, 2SB. Kayla Price and  Natassja Hatcher each went 2-3 with a double and two runs scored

 

SMC travels to USC Sumter today to open Region X play. Game time is 5pm. The two teams play again at SMC on Friday beginning at 1:00pm.
