Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball Can't Hold Up Against Georgia Military College

Game 2

Saturday was a long day for Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball, as it fell to Georgia Military College 10-5.

Georgia Military College captured the lead in the first inning. Natalie Johnson homered on a 2-2 count in the first inning, scoring three runs. Spartanburg evened things up at three in the bottom of the first inning. With two outs in the first inning Ashton Osborne drove in three runs when she homered.Georgia Military College took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Jordan Crews singled, driving in zero and Amber Green doubled off of Teagan Crosby, driving in one run.

Crosby took the loss for Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball . She went six innings, allowing ten runs, 12 hits, and striking out four.
Home runs for Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball came when Brooke Palmer homered in the third inning and Osborne homered in the first inning.
Osborne went 1-for-1 at the plate as she led the team with three runs batted in.
Georgia Military College collected 12 hits. Katy StameyCrews, and Johnson each collected multiple hits for Georgia Military College.

Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball and Georgia Military College played a tight game, but Georgia Military College pulled out the 16-12 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at 11 with Georgia Military College batting in the top of the eighth when Natalie Johnson doubled off of Emily Johnson, driving in two runs.

 

 

Brooke Palmer drove in five runners in the loss. Palmer drove in runs on a home run in the first, a home run in the fifth, and a walk in the sixth.

Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball captured the lead in the first inning. Palmer homered on a 3-2 count in the first inning, scoring two runs. After Georgia Military College scored three runs in the top of the fifth, Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball answered with three of their own. Georgia Military College scored when Danielle Downs singled, driving in zero, there was an error, scoring one run, and Carly Rigsbee doubled, driving in zero. Spartanburgthen answered when Palmer homered off of Madason Messer, driving in two runs and Ashton Osborne homered off of Messer, driving in one run. Spartanburg knotted the game up at 11 in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Emily Johnson took the loss for Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball. She threw one and one-third innings, surrendering four runs, four hits, and walking zero.

Elizabeth Josey started the game for Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball. She pitched six and two-thirds innings, allowing 12 runs, 11 hits, and striking out two.

 

Home runs for Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball came when Palmer homered in the first and fifth innings and Osborne homered in the fifth inning.
