Columbia, SC. - Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers jumped out to an early lead over Columbia College and took home a 4-1 victory on Friday.  SMC took the lead on a home run in the second inning.

SMC took an early lead in the second inning.  The Pioneers Softball scored one run when Rose Jaramillo homered with zero outs in the second inning.
SMC scored three runs in the fourth inning.  The Pioneers scored its runs on a error by Columbia infielder off the bat of Olivia Dunlap.
 
Emily Johnson earned the win for Spartanburg Methodist as She tossed seven innings, allowing one run, eight hits, and striking out four.
 

SMC had six hits in the game. Jaramillo and Dienna White each collected multiple hits for Spartanburg Methodist.  Jaramillo led SMC with three hits in three at bats.

Columbia College collected eight hits. M Ryan, M Smith, and R Prosser each collected multiple hits for Columbia College.
Game two: SMC 0, Columbia College 4

Spartanburg Methodist College had trouble keeping up with Columbia College in a 4-0 loss on Friday in the night cap of a double header.

Columbia College scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Columbia College came thanks to a stolen base by Prosser and a single by J Rankin.
 
A single by Olivia Dunlap in the third inning was a positive for SMC.
 

Teagan Crosby took the loss for Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball. She tossed six innings, allowing four runs, eight hits, striking out three, and walking one.

Rose Jaramillo and Olivia Dunlap each collected one hit to lead Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Softball.
 

Columbia College didn't commit a single error in the field. R Prosser had 13 chances in the field, the most on the team.
