SMC Softball Swept Cleveland Community College

Game 1:

SMC grabbed an early lead on its way to a 10-4 victory over Cleveland CC on Monday. Bowen led things off on the rubber for SMC and only gave up four runs off of six hits and struck out eight batters.

Bailee New had a homerun in game one and the Lady Pioneers collected 17 hits in the first game. SMC also kept things clean on defense and have no errors!

Game 2: 

The Pioneers once again came off the first inning scoring three runs and taking the lead. SMC chipped away each inning adding runs to the board, all to lead up to the 5th inning when things took off. Nine runs were scored for SMC in the 5th inning making the final score 19-1. 

Caitlyn Cox was on the mound for game two. Cox allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven and only walking one. 

Bailee New had another homerun on the day and Desiree Santos came in big in the 5th inning with his first homerun of the year being a GRANDSLAM!

SMC racked up 17 hits on the second game. New, Parent, Santos, Fields, Lindsey, and Cox each had multiple hits on the day. Once again, the SMC defense was solid with no errors! 

SMC will host Catawba Valley on Thursday, April 1st at 1 and 3 PM.
