Lady Pioneers defeat East Georgia State 53-46

SPARTANBURG, SC  

The Spartanburg Methodist College Lady Pioneers Women's Basketball team picked up their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon in front of a large crowd on Homecoming.

The Lady Pioneers (1-1) scored 35 points in the second half and held East Georgia to 24 points to take a 53-46 win. 

Leaders for SMC:

 Morgan Alexander (Greenville, SC / Mauldin High (Erskine) had a season high 21 rebounds, two blocks, and seven points) .Sophomore

Katie Dyches (Aiken, SC / Midland Valley High) added eight points, six rebounds, and five assists). 

Mariah Williams (Lancaster, SC / Indian Land High/Frederick CC) led the Lady Pioneers in scoring with 13 points and added four assists. 

SMC will return to action at 3:00pm Sunday afternoon against Brunswick Community College.
