Lady Pioneers win 79-60 over Montreat

The Lady Pioneer basketball team showed no signs of rust as they returned from their holiday break to defeat Montreat College JV's 79-60.

SMC (5-8)  jumped out to a commanding 35-20 halftime lead, eight Lady Pioneers scored in the half, led by Mariah William's (9 points) and Tori Whittenburg (6 points).

The hot shooting continued for the Pioneers in the second half as they went 8-12 from behind the arc. Katie Dyches (15 points) hit four treys while Raziya Prince (12 points) hit three in the half.

Morgan Alexander continued her solid play with eleven points and twelve rebounds on the night. Crystle Samuel added ten points, giving the Lady Pioneers four in double figures. 

SMC will return to action on Friday night as they host Walters State CC. Tip-off will be 5:00pm
