Women's Basketball falls on the road to Louisburg

LOUISBURG, NC- The Lady Pioneers traveled to Louisburg College on Saturday for a non region contest. SMC took control of the first half and led 38-36 going into the half and looked like they may pull the upset over the Hurricanes as they led by ten points with six minutes left to play. Louisburg turned up the pressure and wnet on a 17-0 run over the the next three minutes to take the lead and went on to win 73-57 to drop the Pioneers to 1-2 on the season. 

Heather Chapman (Summerville, SC)  went 8-13 from the floor for 21 points to lead SMC. Jasmine Rogers (Spartanburg, SC) collected her first double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Daisja Cannon (Columbia, SC) added 11 points and five assists. 

The Lady Pioneers will return to action this week as they host Truett McConnell at 5:00pm on November 13th. East Georgia State College will travel to Bridges Arena on Saturday the 15th for Homecoming.
