Balanced scoring lead Lady Pioneers to 62-53 win

SPARTANBURG, SC., The Lady Pioneers returned to the hardwood on Wednesday night and defeated East Georgia State College 62-53 behind a balanced scoring attack and a strong defensive effort. SMC (3-3) avenged last weeks 62-53 road loss to the Bobcats.

Nine Lady Pioneers scored in the game, led by Jada Martin (Winnsboro, SC / Fairfield Central)- 11 points and 7 steals, Breanna Hines (Duncan, SC / Byrnes High)- 11 points, Yazmeen Young (Greenville, SC / Greenville High)- 10 points and 7 rebounds, Heather Chapman (Jackson, OH / Summerville High) 9 points-  5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and Americal Jenkins (Hilton Head, SC / Hilton Head High)- 7 points and 7 rebounds. 

The Pioneers return to action on Sunday as they travel to Pikeville, KY to face Pikeville University and Cambellsville College. SMC then returns to Bridges Arena for a three game home stand beginning Tuesday November 24th against Roane State.
