Lady Pioneers win two, improve to 5-3

PIKEVILLE, KY., The Lady Pioneers traveled to Pikeville, Kentucky on Sunday for games against Pikeville University and Campbellsville. SMC won their third in a row and improved to 5-3 on the season. 

SMC vs Campbellsville- 80-57 win

Heather Chapman scored 11 of her 18 pts in the first half to help the Lady Pioneers build a 37-28 halftime lead. Chapman(Jackson, OH / Summerville High) shot 72 % from the floor and finished with her first double double of the season adding 10 rebounds, two  assists and  three steals. Shaniqua Brown(Greenville, SC / Hillcrest High) added 11 pts and 11 reboundsfor her first double double of the season as well. Leonna Tucker(Spartanburg, SC / Brooome High) 9 scored points, Breanna Hines (Duncan, SC / Byrnes High), Briana Hill(Columbia, SC / Spring Valley High), Aliyah Davis (Lancaster, SC / Lancaster High) all scored six points a piece.

Jada Martin and Kyah Hawkins finished with five points, Christian Thompson- 3 points, Cierra Mazyck, Tierrany West, Rodnesha Capers, Yazmeen Young and Julia Mayes each added 2 points.

SMC Vs Pikeville University- 83-70 win

Heather Chapman- 13 pts. 8 rebounds and Jada Martin (Winnsboro, SC / Fairfield Central) 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, paced the Pioneers in their 83-70 win over Pikeville University. 

Briana Hill- 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Christian Thompson (Winnsboro, SC / Fairfield Central) had a solid game with 8 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Americal Jenkins (Winnsboro, SC / Fairfield Central) added 8 points. Breanna Hines 7, Marianna Eison 6, Kyah Hawkins 5, Yazmeen Young 4, Shaniqua Brown had 4 points and 10 rebounds. Cierra Mazyck, Leonna Tucker, Rodnesha Capers finished with 2 points each.
