Lady Pioneers win 74-66 to take over first place in Region X.

SPARTANBURG, SC., The Lady Pioneers needed a win on Tuesday night over two time defending Region X champion Denmark Tech to gain sole possession of first place. The two teams had split the previous two meetings this season with SMC winning the last matchup.

Sophomore Heather Chapman led a spirited Pioneer team with 21 points 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Americal Jenkins who missed the first game at Denmark added 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Christian Thompson had a huge night with 11 points six rebounds, five assists, four steals.

Shaniqua Brown finished with 10 points and five rebounds, Jada Martin, 9 points, 8 rebounds Kyah Hawkins, Briana Hill- 2 points Aliyah Davis – 3 points
